Founded to preserve and teach the art of Jōdō, our dōjō, is a space for focused, traditional training. Rooted in Japanese martial culture, we welcome all who seek discipline, self-awareness, and a supportive community.
Quintin Chambers studied Jōdō from 1962 under Shimizu Takazi Sensei in Tokyo Japan. After 12 years, Chambers Sensei left Japan to teach martial arts in the West and eventually settled in Honolulu, Hawaii, where is lives, works, and continues to train today.
Chambers Sensei calls his style of Jōdō “Mugen Dōjō, ” which means limitless. He wants to convey that a serious student is constantly learning to understand the 400-year-old art of Jōdō.
Chambers Sensei has qualified instructors teaching in Hawaii, Alaska, Indiana, the Midwest, Virginia, and Maryland. See the instructor pages for bios, and please contact us for specific class schedules and locations. If we do not have a location near you, we can make recommendations and introductions.
