Foster Sensei started training with Chambers Sensei in 1982 in Hawaii. In 2014, Foster Sensei returned to the mainland and continues to work and practice Jōdō, He received Menkyo Kaiden, the license of full transmission, in 2015.
Foster Sensei has studied Gōjū-ryū Karate under Toguchi Seikichi Sensei He is also a shidosha of Katori Shintō-ryū.
